Think your students can spot a fake? Put their vocabulary to the ultimate test!
Each round presents three words: one is completely real, two are totally made up. Students try to figure out which is which. From ""snollygoster"" (a shrewd, unprincipled politician) to ""borborygmus"" (that rumbling sound your stomach makes), the English language is weird enough that even the fakes sound believable.
Word Nerd is ten rounds of tricky vocabulary challenges, plus a tiebreaker to settle any close calls. Play it with the whole room, a few contestants up front, or elimination style. The student who identifies the most real words earns the title of Word Nerd and bragging rights!
