A story telling mixer/game that gets students interacting in small groups through recounting stories from their life.

Details

OVERVIEW:
This get-to-know-you story telling mixer/game gets students interacting in small groups through recounting stories from their life, then nominating the best of the best stories to be shared with the whole group. In the end, there
are no losers. We're all winners as we get to know each other and hear some wildly unique Stories.

HOW IT WORKS:
• Break into small groups of 3-5.
• Students will be given a prompt to tell a story about something from their life.
• The timer will start.
• Each person needs to tell their story before the clock hits zero.
• If everyone has a chance to share and there is time left, ask questions, share follow-up details, or share a second story if you have one.
• Then, the host will ask for nominees from the groups to share some of the more "exceptional" stories that were shared.

Choose Your Story Timer length:
This download comes with ten rounds of prompts with each prompt having three countdown timers to choose from for the round: 2 minutes, 3 minutes, or 4 minutes.

Choose the length of countdown you want based on the depth of discussion you’re hoping for and the length you would like the game to last.

Nomination Time:
There are still jpegs for each round that can be used during the time where the host selects a few nominees to share their story with the whole group.

Choose Champions:
The download contains a “Storytelling Champion” slide and certificate that you can utilize to pick one overall winner on the night, or one winner for each round.
