Why Play This Game?
SoundClash is a high-energy, engaging game that promotes active listening, teamwork, and quick thinking. It encourages participants to tune in to their surroundings while having a blast with their peers. This game develops listening skills in a fun, fast-paced way, promotes friendly competition that keeps everyone engaged, encourages participation and creativity by allowing the crowd to get involved in making fun and silly noises, with an added bonus for those who go the extra mile with enthusiasm!
How to Play
1. Choose Two Contestants – Select two students to compete in identifying the noises.
2. Prepare the Group – Let the class know that they’ll be making different noises depending on what the slide says each round.
3. Show the Slide – The screen will display the noises that different sections of the crowd should make.
4. Assign the Noise – Each round, different sections of the room will be assigned different noises. Sometimes it will be two noises, and other times the slide may split the crowd into four groups, each making a unique sound. This creates a CLASH of sounds that makes it challenging for students to discern the actual noises being given.
5. Contestants Listen Carefully – The contestants try to identify the different noises coming from the class. As the contestants hear each noise, they call it out loud. One point is awarded for each correct noise identified.
Bonus Challenge
To keep the class fully invested, identify the most expressive and accurate sound maker in each section per round and award them a point as well. The student in the crowd with the most points at the end of the game also wins! This adds an extra layer of excitement and gives the crowd a reason to stay engaged and give it their best effort!
