Doug's note: Matthew McNutt is becoming one of my favorite contributors on DYM... he gives you everything you need and his content is always solid!
The book of Numbers is the story of the Israelites' forty years in the desert. It's full of failure, sin, idol worship; and incredible displays of courage, faith, and dedication. At its core, it is a book that teaches young people what it means to follow God.
This three-week series gives both an overview of the book as well as a deep dive into three of the pivotal stories in the book. It includes small group guides, student handouts, discussion guides, presentation files, and three bumper videos that can be used in person, online, and on social media.
Week One: The Men Who Knew Too Little
Students will be challenged with the need for faith and courage in following God as they explore Caleb and Joshua standing against the ten spies who didn't believe God could lead them to victory.
Week Two: The Waffle Fairy
Students will be challenged with the need to listen and be humble as they explore the story of Balaam and his talking donkey.
Week Three: It's a Trap!
Students will be challenged to be devoted and reminded of God's incredible forgiveness as they explore the story of the Israelites worship of the Moabite gods. This lesson ends with a call to commit or recommit to God.
