A mixer game where students nominate classmates for “most likely” categories, then battle in quick trivia face-offs.

Details

Mock Election Trivia Showdown is a mixer game where students campaign for their classmates and then battle it out in a fun trivia face-off.

Divide the room into two teams (split the room down the middle, guys vs. girls, or any teams you like). Each round, teams nominate one person who best fits that round's category (Best Dancer, Most Likely to Write a Hit Song, or The Tall One). Those two nominees come to the front and go head-to-head to answer a trivia question that’s loosely connected to the category.

The trivia questions aren’t super difficult, but they’re just challenging enough to make things interesting. If neither nominee knows the answer, you can open it up to the crowd so teammates can jump in and help. Teams earn points for correct answers, and the team with the most points at the end wins. Encourage teams to nominate different people each round so lots of students get involved.

This game works great as both a light mixer and a team competition. Students will laugh, cheer for their friends, and get to know each other as they debate who best fits each category.

To keep things moving, use some kind of system for chiming in with answers... raising hands, slapping a stool, or using a buzzer. If you have a bell, buzzer, or even a rubber chicken to honk, that's even better!
