A screen-based "brain game" where for each round, pictures have words associated with them that are pronounced the same but spelled differently.

Details

Put your students' brains (and spelling skills) to the test in this brain teaser screen game. In each round, icons are presented (two for rounds 1-7; three for rounds 8-10). The images have words associated with them that are pronounced the same but spelled differently. This is called a ""homophone"" (ex. to, two, and too). See if students can figure out the answer, and if you want to add to the challenge, make them spell the word that goes with each image.

You can run this as an all-play (first to shout the answer wins candy, divide into teams, and most rounds right wins) or as a stage game (bring up 2-4 smarty-pants to face off for most correct rounds).

This Resource Includes:

  • Complete PowerPoint game file
  • Individual (10 Q&A + instructions) game slides (jpeg files)
  • Title slide (jpeg file)

About this Product
The final round is three images where the answer is "By, Bye, Buy". Have the N'Sync song cued up to pump through the room and have a brief dance party!
