Teenagers make thousands of choices every day. Some are small, like what to wear, what to eat, and how to spend their free time. Others are much bigger, like who they surround themselves with, what they believe about God, and how they live out their faith. The problem is that students are constantly being told how to make decisions by culture, social media, friends, and personal feelings, but very few are being taught how to make wise decisions from a biblical perspective. And this is what the series tackles.
Choices is a three-week teaching series designed to help students understand how their decisions shape their lives and how God equips them to make wise choices. Instead of simply giving students a list of rules, this series helps them develop a biblical framework for decision-making that they can apply to everyday life.
Students will learn three foundational truths:
1. They have the power of choice.
2. Their choices have direction and destination.
3. God provides wisdom and guidance through Scripture and the Holy Spirit.
Week 1: Choices - Direction and Destination
Week 2: Seek Godly Wisdom
Week 3: The Holy Spirit is Our Helper
This series tackles a real problem many youth pastors face: students often know right from wrong, but struggle to navigate the “gray areas” of life. The Bible may not tell them exactly which classes to take, which friends to pursue, how much time to spend online, or how to use their freedom, but Scripture provides the wisdom and guidance needed to make those decisions.
Over the course of three weeks, students will learn that following Jesus is not just about avoiding obvious sin; it’s about becoming people who seek God’s wisdom and walk with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
