Details

Chair Trivia is BACK with a Christmas Edition of the amazing game to get your entire group engaged. Even if they are in their seats, they can play along. This game does involve crowd participation.

This game is a take on an older segment from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon called 'Phone Booth'.

The concept is extremely similar. Play this game as a 'Guys vs Girls' game, and when you play it, you will understand why. Let's just say that teams get 'close' to one another.

First, pick two people to be the main competitors. You will need two solid chairs. (Nothing plastic, preferably the type of metal-based chair you may have in your church auditorium.)

Place both chairs on your stage or on the floor in front of your audience. Have both competitors stand on their chairs facing the audience. For safety, have 1-2 adult leaders standing behind each chair in case a chair tips.

Now for the questions: choose which team will go first. Using the included PowerPoint file, begin with the first trivia question. To challenge your students further, you may set a time limit for answering the questions.

For example, if the guy team member gets the question right, a girl member of the audience must stand on the girl team's chair with the original girl. However, if the guy team member who was asked the question gets it wrong, then a guy member from the audience must stand on their chair along with them.

Once people are added to chairs, they can contribute to the answer to their question, but cannot make the final decision. The final decision must be made by the original team member.

Once all the main questions have been asked, the team with the fewest people on their chair wins the game. If the score is tied, use the Tiebreaker question in the PowerPoint file.

To make the game even more challenging, add a rule that if any member of any team touches the ground, the entire team is disqualified.

About this Product
Have leaders by the chairs to help students stay safe while sitting and standing on the chairs. Also, play some low-fi Christmas instrumentals in the background while the game is on.
