Have some fun and laughter with the English language as students are challenged to correctly pronounce tricky words in this video-driven game. Students will be presented with a larger or uniquely spelled word, they try to pronounce the word, an AI voice then gives the correct pronunciation, and participants are judged on their accuracy.
You can play the game several ways:
• Individual Challenge: Call up a single participant, have them try to pronounce the word, play the correct pronunciation, and judge the participant.
• Face-off: Call up 2-4 participants, have each try to pronounce the word, play the correct pronunciation, and judge to select the winner.
• All-Play for Fun: Have everyone try to pronounce the word, play the correct pronunciation, and judge to select the winner.
You will need someone or a small group of judges to determine if the pronunciation is accurate. The download includes printable judging cards that are simply a thumbs-up emoji. You can judge in two different ways:
1. Select 1, 3, or 5 individuals as judges (to make sure there aren’t ties)
2. Give your entire group the judging cards.
After the correct pronunciation is played, the judge(s) vote by holding their card with the thumb facing up for accurate or down for inaccurate.
As added fun, the download includes a printable "Golden Hammer Award." It is a pdf certificate that states you can print off and hand out to the person who had the most epic mispronunciation at the end of the game.
