GAINZ is a three-week sermon series that aims to help students develop spiritual muscle.

This series investigates the temptation of Jesus found in Matthew 4:1-11. Through the three different temptations Jesus faced, we explore the three spiritual muscles that Jesus used to fight and win against temptation.

This series will help your students understand why growing their spiritual lives is important and also learn three practical ways to do it.

Week 1
· Spiritual Muscle Developed: Committing God’s Word to your heart and memory.
· Bottom Line: You can’t always hide from temptation, but you can be ready for it.
· Scripture: Matthew 4:1-4

Week 2
· Spiritual Muscle Developed: Surrender
· Bottom Line: Trusting God is better than testing God.
· Scripture: Matthew 4:5-7

Week 3
· Spiritual Muscle Developed: Worship
· Bottom Line: Feed what you want to grow, starve what you want to die.
· Scripture: Matthew 4:8-11

This Resource Includes:

Ken McIntyre

After serving for 10 years in a local church youth ministry setting in Calgary Alberta, I now serve as the Youth Ministries Director for Alberta and Northwest Territories for the PAOC. I'm passionate about helping youth pastors and their teams reach teenagers for Jesus in effective ways.

My wife and I were married in 2009 and together we have three fast-moving, never-quitting, fun-loving young girls named Emery, Willow, and Harper.

Things I love: Jesus, family, youth ministry, and fitness.

Things I like: Reading, shoes, and HGTV.

Things I hate: Crowds and wet socks.

There are plenty of people who are grateful that you do what you do. Your students are, their families are, and your church is, even though they may not say it often enough. I want to say thanks on behalf of them, and model the way we need to be saying thanks to the leaders that serve alongside us—in ten different ways—through this ebook.

Thank YOU!
