Word Battle is a fast-paced, brain-bending, high-energy showdown that will get your students thinking (and laughing) in record time! In this one vs one word duel, two contestants go head-to-head on stage, battling to be the first to shout out a word that meets one simple rule... but it’s harder than it sounds!

Each round, two letters will be displayed on the screen — one is the first letter the word must start with, and the other is the last letter the word must end with. The twist? The word must be at least five letters long to count!

No three-letter “cat” or four-letter “dumb” here — this is a Word Battle, not a word jog. Your students will need speed, smarts, and a solid vocabulary (or just some good guesses) to win. The first person to correctly shout a valid word that fits the letter combo wins the round.

🎤 How to Play:
• Bring two contestants up front (rotate new players each round to involve more students).
• Display a slide with two letters — e.g., S _ _ _ _ R (word must start with S and end with R).
• On your cue, the first person to shout a correct 5-letter-or-longer word wins that round!
• Optional: Let the crowd be the judge (or have a leader ready to validate words).
• Play as many rounds as you like — winner stays on, or rotate both players each time!
