Where Did I Stop? helps students feel connected, known, and comfortable being themselves. I love playing games like this because, unlike trivia games, there are no right or wrong answers. Students can be themselves and enjoy the game, sharing small, silly pieces of who they are as they learn about the people around them. Those small moments of laughter and guessing build trust, spark conversation, and make it easier for students to engage not just in the game, but in the group as a whole.
Game Instructions:
1. Two students come to the stage. One person is the Guesser and the other is the Stopper.
2. The Guesser closes their eyes.
3. A silly question is read out loud, followed by seven numbered answer options.
4. As the numbers are read, the Stopper quietly raises their hand when they hear the number that best fits their answer.
5. All numbers should be read out loud, even after the Stopper raises their hand.
6. After all the numbers have been read, the Guesser opens their eyes.
7. The Guesser tries to guess which number their partner stopped on.
At its best, Where Did I Stop? lowers the pressure and raises participation, helping even quieter students feel safe jumping in. It is simple to run, easy to repeat, and consistently creates the kind of shared laughter and connection that strengthens any group.
