Editor’s note: Very good content, with lots of connection points to students’ lives.
The Christmas Story Worship Experience is an interactive event for students to walk through the birth of Christ, reflecting on the main characters in a way that impacts their lives. Students will spend one-on-one time with God as they read through the Christmas story. They will have the opportunity to shine a light in their heart to see where they are with Jesus, be challenged to replace “I can’t” as a response to God with “How”, step out in faith and trust Jesus with the stones in their lives, be encouraged by Scripture with the truth of who they are, and ask themselves to evaluate their hearts’ motives in seeking Jesus.
The Christmas Story Worship Experience is created for students to do individually and can be done during a small group or large group time. Depending on how long students take for each section, this experience could last an hour to an hour and a half. There are five parts to this experience and three stations that need to be set up before the worship experience (instructions are included).
The supplies include candles, lighter, flat stones, sharpies, and a "manger" with notes.
Each section of the Worship Experience has a clear, word-for-word description of what each student is supposed to do, read, and experience as they go through each section of the Christmas story.
All the work is done for you. All you need to do is photocopy and gather a few supplies. It’s also written in an editable format in case you want to change anything in each section.
