What does it mean to be a "true follower" of Jesus? How can students show their commitment to him and live out his purpose for their lives? True Follower is a 5-week series that explores what a true follower—a disciple—of Jesus looks like. In this series, your students will examine five areas of faith that we need to understand in order to follow Jesus.

Week 1: The Cost of Following Jesus
Week 2: The Call on Our Life to Come to and Follow Jesus
Week 3: The Cross and the Significance of Jesus' Death
Week 4: The Commission Jesus Gives to His Disciples
Week 5: The Commitment to Following Jesus

This study can be used over five weeks of midweek or Sunday services. Or it can be used over a retreat weekend, with each "week" representing a different session.

I am the former Student Pastor at Sedalia Baptist Church in Mayfield, KY and served in student ministry for 16 years. I have been on staff with several different churches in that time in Central & Western Kentucky and a short stint in West Tennessee. I have 2 boys, Josiah and Jonah. In 2017, I lost my first wife, Savanna, to breast cancer after a 6 month battle. In early 2018, God brought another Godly woman into my life, Katie, and we were married in September of 2018. I am also an avid, but not obnoxious, Kentucky Wildcats basketball & football fan and make no apologies about it. I also love video games, the Nashville Predators hockey team, Atlanta Braves baseball and San Fransisco 49ers football. In 2019 God had other plans for our family and I stepped out of student ministry. God has been faithful and I have continued to be a part of the church body, but from the cheap seats for now. If I can pass on words of wisdom, life is going to be full of surprises but never to God. The most freeing thing I have learned through the trials in my life, from losing my wife to cancer, remarrying, and taking a new career path, always lean on Jesus! It sounds cliche but it’s true and very freeing. I am excited to say that all the proceeds from my resources are being donated to The Allison Williams Scholarship. Allison was an amazing woman in ministry and I hope that by you purchasing my resource, you can help other amazing women in ministry.

There are plenty of people who are grateful that you do what you do. Your students are, their families are, and your church is, even though they may not say it often enough. I want to say thanks on behalf of them, and model the way we need to be saying thanks to the leaders that serve alongside us—in ten different ways—through this ebook.

Thank YOU!
