Editor's note: This is a solid resource with some good illustrations. It will keep students engaged and help them develop these disciplines.

What does it mean to be truly devoted to Jesus? For students, it can be difficult to remain devoted to Jesus in the midst of the distractions and temptations they face. That's why it's important that they develop and practice the core spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith. Devoted is a three-week study on spiritual disciplines. This resources breaks down as follows:

Week 1: Devoted to God's Word and Prayer
A detailed look at two essential spiritual disciplines, with a focus on listening to God.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16, Luke 18:9–14

Week 2: Devoted to Community and Fellowship
A look at the first community of Acts 2 and why it's essential to be a part of Christian community and living generously.
Scripture: Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:24–25

Week 3: Devoted to Unity and Service

An in-depth look at 1 Corinthians 12 and being part of the body of Christ, with some pretty crazy illustrations.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12–27

Each lesson comes with a full transcript and an abridged version of the lesson (the abridged version is better for shorter lessons or those who prefer to use their notes less.)

There are also small group discussion questions to follow each lesson.

Primary Bible Passages Used: 2 Timothy 3:16, Luke 18:9–14, Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:24–25, 1 Corinthians 12:12–27

This Resource Includes:
• Title Graphic
• Powerpoint background (light)
• Powerpoint background (dark)
• 3 full message manuscripts
• 3 abridged message manuscripts

Note from the Author

In lesson 1, the teacher needs an old book placed into a Bible case, and a Sharpie and highlighter. In lesson 2, an option for the end of the lesson is providing food for your small groups. The clearance section of your local grocery store bakery works great!

Born and raised in Southern California, where my home student ministry made such an impact on my life that I knew Jesus was calling me back to serve in student ministry early on in college. After receiving a business degree, I received my Bible College degree from Calvary Chapel Bible College, then received my Master's in Theological Studies from Veritas Evangelical Seminary. In vocational student ministry since 2011, I have served in churches in California, Texas, and Oregon, where I now serve as the Youth and Children's Pastor at a church in the SE Portland area.

There are plenty of people who are grateful that you do what you do. Your students are, their families are, and your church is, even though they may not say it often enough. I want to say thanks on behalf of them, and model the way we need to be saying thanks to the leaders that serve alongside us—in ten different ways—through this ebook.

Thank YOU!
