A 3-week series on God’s guidelines for three kinds of major relationships: parents, friends, and dating.

Details

In our relationships, we often focus on what we get out of the other person. But we can only control who we are and the choices we make. This 3-week series sets out important, biblical goals for our major relationships: with our parents, with our friends, and in our dating relationships.

Week 1 – Parents
Key Texts: Ephesians 6:1–3, Exodus 20:12, Hebrews 12:9–10
Key Challenge: We should obey and honor our parents, because we want to obey and honor God. Our view of our parents’ honorability should have no impact on this.

Week 2 – Friends
Key Texts: Mark 2:–5, Proverbs 13:20, 27:17, 18:24, 17:17, 1 John 3:18–19
Key Challenge: We should strive to be a friend who will bring people closer to Jesus, be there for our friends when they are hurting, and overcome adversity for our friends’ benefit.

Week 3 – Dating
Key Texts: 2 Corinthians 6:14–16, Exodus 20:4–6, Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:16–20

Key Challenge: We should be in dating relationships that bring us closer to Christ. We should keep God first and never allow our significant other to become an idol. We should maintain sexual purity, for God’s sake and for ours.

This series will help your students refocus on God and make wise choices in relationships!
