Note from the Author

We use this night as a Halloween party on the Wednesday before Halloween. However, it could work any time of year. It has become a tradition for our student ministry and they talk about their puns for weeks afterwards. From the beginning, it was very high energy and students brought a ton of friends. People crowding around each other trying to decipher the creative pun costume. Lots of laughs. Some costumes were elaborate (like "Holy Guacamole" and "Our God's Cheese Grater") others were super clever (like a girl named Teri dressing ups as "Teri-dactyl" and a boy dressed as "Chicken Cordon Bleu"). The best part of this night is that athleticism is not required and our shyer kids rose up as heroes for their groups because they were creative and thoughtful. Overall, this night was a blast and makes for an easy "invite your friend" moment.

There are plenty of people who are grateful that you do what you do. Your students are, their families are, and your church is, even though they may not say it often enough. I want to say thanks on behalf of them, and model the way we need to be saying thanks to the leaders that serve alongside us—in ten different ways—through this ebook.

Thank YOU!
