Can your students determine which unusual names are from the Bible and which ones come from history, literature, or pop culture?

Details

Step into the challenge of The Name Game, a game where students put their knowledge (and instincts!) to the test. In each round, three names appear: one from the Bible and two from history, literature, or pop culture. Players must decide which name belongs in Scripture and move to the matching side of the room (left, right, or center) before time runs out.

With every round, the energy builds as students cheer, laugh, and learn just how surprising biblical names can be. The Name Game is perfect for large groups, requires no setup, and is guaranteed to get students moving, thinking, and engaging with the Bible in a fun and unforgettable way.

You can use this game in several ways:
• All-Play Movement Game: Have the audience move to the side of the room that matches their guess.
• Up-Front: Bring some contestants upfront and have them compete head-to-head.
• Elimination Mode: Like the all-play movement version, but those who get an answer wrong have to sit down. Can they survive all 12 rounds? (It might be good to do a practice round or two.

This Resource Includes:

  • Complete PowerPoint game file
  • Individual (12 Q&A + instructions) game slides (jpeg files)
  • Title slide (jpeg file)

About this Product
Running the game in "elimination mode" ups the stakes a little compared to a normal "pick a side" game. Be sure to do a couple practice rounds before you start eliminating.
