This is a full night of programming for your JR and/or SR High Youth Ministry. This event is geared at REACHING out to students who may not come to your Youth Ministry but may be in Sunday adult services, students you may have contact with beyond the walls of the church (schools, sports teams, etc.), and/or friends that can be invited by students already in your Youth Ministry.
This event is NOT an Evangelism-based event, meaning there isn’t a message included in this package. If you choose to still speak or have a message, that is something that you will have to prepare.
Included in this event package is a slide that says, “What Have We Been Learning Lately?” that can be used as an icebreaker at the beginning or end of your evening. This allows your students to share in front of the group what they have been hearing and learning in your weekly youth gatherings.
For Pool Noodle Wars, you need to buy A LOT of pool noodles. Your local dollar store will have them for around $1 each. For this event, make sure you have a minimum of two pool noodles for every student and a few extras as well in case some are damaged during the games. For example, if you have 40 students, I recommend buying a minimum of 100 Pool Noodles for the night.
Once the event is over, you can keep the pool noodles for future activities at the church, but you can also give them away at the end of the event if you choose.
Below is a list of the games for this event night. There are game graphics for each game to project onto a large screen or television. The original version of ‘Pool Noodle Wars’ is also available on the DYM website with an additional five games to play.
- Noodle Flip
- Noodle Hockey
- Chopsticks
- Ultimate Beam of Balance
- Tug-of-War
- Noodle Limbo
This event can be done over 90 minutes and not feel rushed. Many of these games can be played a second or third time.
To add to the evening, have some high-energy music playing to create an epic atmosphere.
