Does your student know what ""Advent"" means, or why it's even celebrated?

Schools rarely discuss the important aspects of Advent to our students. Instead, they often focus on the secular festivities of the Christmas holiday. Though these Christmas traditions aren't a bad thing, the Adore Advent Devotional for Teen Girls intends to give your teenage students the best of both worlds: a festive, Christmas-themed series that is brimming with biblical content about Jesus's birth and the rich history of Advent.

This study includes four weeks of content (and a bonus, self-guided Christmas Day devotional) for you and your female students to walk through together.

(Note: This study was specifically written and designed for girl's small groups or girls youth groups.)

Week one: The Prophecy Candle 
Theme: Hope 
Main Idea: Jesus brings us hope - more than anything else ever could. 
Scriptures: Isaiah 9:6-7, Luke 1:5-17, Luke 1:26-38 

Week two: The Bethlehem Candle 
Theme: Faith
Main Idea: Without faith we can’t please God.
Scriptures: Matthew 1:18-25, Hebrews 11:6

Week three: The Shepherd's Candle 
Theme: Joy
Main Idea: Joy nourishes us! It is meant to be spread around!
Scriptures: Luke 2:1-15, Luke 2:17-18

Week four: The Angel's Candle 
Theme: Peace
Main Idea: Jesus brings peace and freedom from anxiety. 
Scriptures: Luke 1:18-20, Luke 2:26-33, Isaiah 26:3, James 3:18
