Grace is a hard concept to understand. It’s hard to understand because in our lives there are typically very few, if any, examples of the type of unconditional love that comes through grace. This beautiful video explains how God’s grace for us enables us to love the people around us through their brokenness with the same type of God-provided love.

Words are interesting because the same word can mean completely different things to different people. Certain words lose or change meaning depending on where you live, what context it is used in, who uses that word and for what purpose, or just because time has passed. This is why it’s very important to explain what we mean when we use certain words to describe an important idea. The word “Church” is an example of a word that has many different meanings to people around the world. We have no idea what hangs in the balance if we don’t help students understand the idea of church how God intended.

Grace puts us in tension with ourselves every day. We know God has come to save people who make mistakes and we know that His grace sets us free from the consequences of our mistakes. However we can make a fatal mistake when we misuse this gift. This is a tension that students live in especially as they try and figure out who they are and where they fit in life.
