Following Jesus doesn’t just mean that we are waiting to go to heaven as if it’s this other dimension somewhere else. Following Jesus means that we are actively working to bring about heaven on earth in the here and now. That is the mission of the Church and everyone is invited to participate.In the book of Acts, Jesus told his first followers that they would be his “witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” This series of Viva! will explore four stories from the life of the early church about how serving that mission started to take shape and what we can learn about continuing to live it out.
