Losing our own image to put on His image.

Details

We live in a society that is dominated by images. Images on cell phones, computers, T.V., internet and magazines. Our teenagers are taught by these that image is important. I completely agree that image is important, not just to the world but most importantly to God. Instead of running away from images let's teach students which image to go after.

God wants us to be in His image according to Gen. 1:26-27. He is not just talking about our physical appearance here; He is talking about our overall image. Image is our actions, how we talk, how we treat people and how we look. When people hear us talk, who do they hear? When they see us act, who do they see?

The image they should see in us is God. We should allow God to shatter our own image of ourselves and rebuild His own image in us (Matthew 16:25-26). Paul and Peter both allowed this process to happen in their lives and they helped change the world.

We should be doing the same. God's image is found in Galatians 5:22-26, the fruit of the spirit. Our lives should reflect God's image not ours.
