Test your students' eyes for real and fake news again with this slide-driven game.

Details

This sequel to Fake News includes more actual headlines from top newspapers and headlines from the news parody site, The Onion. Your students must try their best to determine what's real and what's fake news.

GAMEPLAY OPTIONS:

• Break the group into teams and give each team two signs: one that says REAL and another that says FAKE. Teams must work together to decide if the headline is real or fake and hold up the sign to show their answer.

• Make one side of the room REAL and the other side FAKE. Everyone stands and moves to the side of the room that corresponds to their answer. Those who choose incorrectly are out.

• Choose an adult volunteer and two students to come up front. Sit the adult in the 'hot seat'. He or she must answer if the headline is real or fake and then (before the answer is revealed) the two students must decide if he/she is right or wrong. If the students guess incorrectly, they suffer the consequences (pie in the face, hit with a pool noodle, sit down). If students are correct, the leader suffers the consequence instead.
