A screen game where students compete by making lists.

Details

In this screen game, students compete by making lists… yup, that’s really the game! Each round has a category and the challenge is to make the longest list of things that fit within each category. There are two versions of game play.

Up-Front Version: Bring up two, three, or four participants (really you can bring as many as you want). Put the category up on the screen (example: things with wheels). One by one, students name an item that fit in that category. If something is repeated or someone gets stumped, he/she is out for that round. Last person standing wins the round.

Group Game: Divide the larger group into smaller teams. Put the category up on the screen and give 30-seconds for each team to make the lengthiest list possible (pro-tip: have pen and paper or mini whiteboard and marker available for each team). After the time is up, have the team count up how many they had on their list. Scoring can be determined by simply having teams tally one point for every item listed, or one point per round to the team with the longest list.

This is a great game to get students thinking and talking.
