A 4-week teaching series about the infection of sin

Details

We are all diseased. We have all been infected. It's called sin and it brings with it pain, fear, worry, lust, and doubt. So what's the remedy? This 4 week series will be a shot of encouragement and hope in the arm of every one of your students. Each week also tees it up perfectly to share the gospel, because ultimately the remedy is Jesus!

WEEK 1 - THE REMEDY FOR PAIN AND FEAR
It's safe to say that every student in your ministry lives with some level of pain or fear. Joseph experienced a lot of pain and fear throughout his life and yet he remained faithful. In his story your students will discover how the remedy for pain is the presence of God and the remedy for fear is the presence of God.

WEEK 2 - THE REMEDY FOR WORRY
Jesus knows what we are worried about, just like he knew that the disciples where worried as he prepared for the cross in John 14. The first thing he says is for their hearts not to be troubled, but to trust in him. In this study of Jesus' interaction with his disciples we see how the remedy for worry is trust in Christ. This message ends with a strong evangelistic message of trusting in Christ as the way, the truth, and the life.

WEEK 3 - THE REMEDY FOR LUST
I believe lust is the defining struggle of our generation. It's the cancer of our time. Yet, there is a very simply remedy given to us in 2 Timothy 2:22... flee and pursue. In this message your students will learn how to flee temptation and surround themselves with righteous things to run after instead. They will also fill out their own personal battle plan for conquering lust in their life with the included handout.

WEEK 4 - THE REMEDY FOR DOUBT
Students are struggling with the assurance of their salvation. Satan loves to get them to doubt. In this message your students will be given clear Biblical proof of the promise of their eternal life, that God is protecting their salvation from ever being lost, and that they can be confident that they are saved by 4 identifiers from 1 John so that they never have to doubt their salvation again.
