Focusing on what we are missing instead of focusing on what we have can produce anxiety and discontentment. The reality is that God is our provider, and the solution to some of our anxiety is to be thankful.

Details

Our world is full of consumerism and pressure to always keep up with having the latest new thing. FOMO (the fear of missing out) is a real struggle in this fast-paced, instant-gratification world. The problem is that it has created an epidemic of anxiety, especially amongst your students. The anxiety comes from focusing on what we are missing instead of focusing on what we have because if we are honest, most of us, including your students, have more than we could ever need. The reality is that God is our provider, and the solution to some of our anxiety is to be thankful.

HOW TO USE THIS RESOURCE:

Option 1:  Use this in a Group Setting
Follow along in the Facilitator’s Guide and you’ll find instructions, time frames, and extra notes just for you.  The student handouts are on a separate file; be sure to make copies for each student in your group.

Option 2: Use this in a Mentoring Relationship or for an individual student.
Just make a copy of the Student Handout and give it (or send it) to the student (all the instructions they need are already there).  If you are mentoring a student, just make an extra copy of the Student Handout for yourself and walk alongside the student as he/she goes through this study.
