“God has a plan to reach this world, and it is you.”

This devotional journey is an opportunity for students to develop a consistent Time Alone With God (or TAWG, as we call it in our ministry), as well as develop a heart for evangelism.

On Day 1, students are asked to identify 5 friends who don’t know Jesus, or those who are spiritually struggling friends, family, or acquaintances. These 5 individuals become a pivotal part of the 30-day journey as students pray, write, worship, read Scripture, and wrestle with what it means to share their faith. Each day’s devotional consists of three sections (think “W.O.W.”):

1. WORSHIP – We will admire and connect with God in a real and personal way.
2. OUTREACH – This is where your “My 5” list will come in. Primarily, we will take time to pray for the lost and spiritually struggling individuals we have identified, but there will be other exercises in here, as well.
3. WILL – We will consider where and how we need our will and God’s will to collide.

Print out as many copies as you need and go through this devotional with your student leaders or small group or tie it in with an evangelism or outreach teaching series.

Note from the Author: How did we use it? We gave this devotional at our Summer Camp and students took it home to go through, leading into our Back to School Kickoff. It’s been effective at opening our students’ hearts for their lost friends and taking courageous next steps toward caring for them.
