The true mark of a Christ follower is one who takes on the nature of a servant. Christ is our ultimate teacher and model of servanthood as he came not to be served but to serve others and to surrender his life for others' benefit. Yet the key to being a true servant of God is to have an intimate relationship with him, which leads to serving him out of love and obedience. Those who discover this truth will experience a life that will be difficult at times, but they will also experience a life that has purpose and is filled with God's joy and great blessings.
